Critics Say West Virginia U.'s Presidential Search Is Rigged; Bennett College's New President Is Known for Speaking Out
CAN'T WIN: Some public universities, including the University of Iowa, Indiana University, and the University of Delaware, have been criticized recently for keeping aspects of presidential searches secret. By contrast, West Virginia University has run an exceptionally public presidential search, having posted regular updates on its Web site, including the résumés of three finalists, all of whom have appeared in public forums on the campus.
