Critics Decry Canadian Government's Aid to a For-Profit Online Institution
In its first year of operation, Lansbridge University is fending off critics who say that, as a for-profit institution, it doesn't deserve grants from the Canadian government.
Lansbridge, which bills itself as the "world's first private Internet-based university," came out swinging against its chief critic, the 30,000-member Canadian Association of University Teachers -- known as CAUT -- after being denounced in an Ottawa Citizen newspaper article.
