Court Upholds Privacy of Admissions Data
A Wisconsin state appeals court has ruled that the University of Wisconsin System was right when it refused, for privacy reasons, to share applicants' records with an advocacy group that opposes racial preferences in college admissions.
The Court of Appeals for Wisconsin's Fourth District found last month that the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 precludes the university from releasing the records of applicants, regardless of whether they were admitted. The decision
