A Pennsylvania judge has sided with the University of Scranton in its dispute with a pizzeria bordering its campus that wanted to expand, according to The Times-Tribune, a local newspaper.
The university had sued this summer to block the restaurant, Goodfellas, from converting its basement from a storage area to a dance club and bar. The Jesuit institution argued such an expansion could encourage underage and binge drinking.
The zoning board had approved the expansion, but Judge Harold A. Thomson of the Court of Common Pleas for Pike County has overturned that ruling, saying Goodfellas must be restricted to one story. —Charles Huckabee
