Court Refuses to Hear Appeal of NCAA Win
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has won another legal battle in its fight to preserve its eligibility standards for athletes.
The full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit last week declined to review a December decision by a three-judge panel of the court. The panel had ruled that the N.C.A.A. does not receive federal funds and thus is not subject to federal civil-rights laws.
Lawyers for the plaintiffs said they would ask the U.S.
