Courses in Computer Forensics Gain Popularity on Campuses
CSI has arrived at RIT. No, it's not the popular television show about crime-scene investigations, but a bona fide academic pursuit.
This month the Rochester Institute of Technology is beginning to offer computer-forensics courses, which may be incorporated into a degree by next year. The courses instruct students on how to comb through a computer's memory to find hidden or deleted files, and how to preserve those files as evidence for an investigation or a court case.
