Course at Maryville College Teaches Seniors All About the National Pastime
When Jeff M. Bay, an associate professor of statistics, decided to create a seminar about baseball, he started with what he knew best. Mr. Bay sketched out a section on statistics that would illustrate how some numbers, such as on-base and slugging percentages, are good predictors of how many runs a team will score.
