Course Notes on Web Sites
To the Editor:
In your story on paid note-takers, the unstated assumption is that this is somehow unfair, unethical, or even illegal ("Colleges Weigh Legal Action Against Web Sites That Publish Lecture Notes," November 26). But isn't our job to disseminate information and help students learn? If this is the way they learn best, why should we care that they do so by purchasing our lecture material as recorded by someone else?
