A December 22 post on this blog incorrectly reported on the guilty plea made on May 1, 2006, by a former president of Morris Brown College, Dolores E. Cross. The post, relying on an Associated Press article of 2006, erroneously stated that Ms. Cross had pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement. In fact, according to a statement released in 2006 by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta, she pleaded guilty to felony charges related to a financial-aid fraud scheme, not embezzlement. The December 22 post has been corrected, as has a May 1, 2006, post that also drew on the Associated Press article.
