Corporate Leaders Urge Colleges to De-Emphasize SAT Scores in Admissions
Critics of standardized tests are springing up not only in classrooms but in boardrooms.
In a strongly worded letter to college presidents this month, corporate leaders urged academic officials to place less emphasis on the SAT and other standardized tests when evaluating applicants. Executives from companies like Shell and Verizon, joined by members of the National Urban League, wrote that entrance exams do not measure the qualities most crucial for success
