Cornell's Medical School Will Open Degree-Granting Branch in Qatar
Cornell University's medical school will open a branch in the Middle East, supported by $750-million from a foundation created by the emir of Qatar, officials announced last week. The new school will eventually offer a full degree program.
Cornell will begin offering a two-year premedical program in Qatar in 2002, and start classes there two years later at the branch of Weill Cornell Medical College. The first degrees will be awarded in 2008.
