Cornell Welcomes, Then Unwelcomes, Hundreds of Would-Be Students
Hundreds of early-decision applicants who had been rejected or deferred by Cornell University in December got an e-mail message last month congratulating them on winning acceptance into the Class of 2007. Admissions officials quickly sent out a new round of messages notifying the students that the message was an error and apologizing for the confusion.
