Corinthian Colleges Is Object of SEC Inquiry
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has begun an "informal inquiry" into Corinthian Colleges Inc., the company announced last week. The inquiry is the third such probe that the agency has undertaken in recent months.
The SEC is also investigating the Career Education Corporation and ITT Educational Institutes, two other publicly traded higher-education companies.
Corinthian said correspondence from the SEC indicated that the inquiry concerns Corinthian's projections,
