Convention Notebook: Students Cover Proceedings and Meet Politicians

At last week's Democratic convention, Jed Layton, a student journalist from the University of Utah, and his counterpart from Shantou University, in China, were watching Joseph R. Biden Jr., the party's vice-presidential nominee, deliver a blistering attack on John McCain, the presumed Republican candidate for the presidency.
