Contested New Policies at Kean U.

I'm writing to give additional information about some issues raised in your article "Kean U. Develops Controversial Plan to Cut Costs and Boost Enrollment" (The Chronicle, July 18).

First, there is no record — meeting minutes or otherwise — to substantiate Kenneth B. Sander's assertion that the changes being implemented for the fall semester (e.g., the increase in office hours in two-hour blocks spread across four days a week, no teaching of
