Congressman Assails NCAA for Treatment of Rule Violators

National Collegiate Athletic Association officials endured a tongue-lashing last week from Rep. Spencer Bachus of Alabama during a Congressional hearing into their procedures for investigating whether athletes and institutions have broken NCAA rules.
