Congressional Agency Seeks Investigation of Humanities Endowment

The Government Accountability Office has told the inspector general of the National Endowment for the Humanities to investigate allegations that the agency misused federal funds and that it retaliated against a former employee for speaking to The Chronicle. The GAO, the investigative arm of Congress, gave the inspector general until September 23 to respond.
