Congress Slightly Increases NIH Funds
Congress has approved a bill authorizing modest increases in spending for the National Institutes of Health over the next three years. The measure passed last month eliminated controversial wording in an earlier version that would have required that half of the agency's annual budget increases go to a new fund for interdisciplinary projects.
This is the first time in more than a decade that Congress has passed a reauthorization bill to set spending ceilings and give policy direction
