Congress Puts More Money Into Aid for Child-Care Centers on Campuses
Three-year-old David Zevallos has spent a lot of time waiting in the back seat while his father, Cesar A. Zevallos, finishes his shift as a part-time auto mechanic.
But thanks in part to a federally subsidized child-care program at Borough of Manhattan Community College, where Mr. Zevallos attends classes, David now spends fewer afternoons in the car and more time interacting with playmates and teachers in a classroom.
