Congress Misses Deadline Again for Approval of Spending Bills
Congress has once again failed to meet the deadline for approving the appropriations bills that finance government operations for the new fiscal year, which began last week.
President Bush signed a continuing resolution that will keep the government running through October 31. Congressional leaders and the Bush administration will have until then to reach agreement on 10 of the 13 spending bills for the 2004 fiscal year.
