Congress May Permit Aid Talks to Continue
The Senate has passed legislation that would allow a select group of private colleges to discuss their financial-aid policies with one another for seven more years.
The legislation, which the Senate approved unanimously in October, would provide an exemption to a law barring such discussions for financial-aid administrators at private colleges that are "need blind" (meaning that they do not consider a family's ability to pay in making admissions decisions).
