Congress Agrees on 'Tech-Prep' Bill
Members of a panel of lawmakers in both chambers of Congress have reached an agreement on legislation to reauthorize a technical-education program that provides millions of dollars to community colleges each year.
The legislation (HR 366, S 250), which would renew the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act, had been stalled for more than a year. The compromise legislation, negotiated by a House-Senate conference committee, is expected to pass both chambers.
