Computer Scientist Lives in a Home With a Mind of Its Own

From the outside, it's easy to imagine Michael Mozer's home as it once was: an early-20th-century schoolhouse tucked in the hills of a coal-mining town surrounded by the Rocky Mountains.

A restored rooftop bell tower adds a historical touch, and the original sign hangs above the front door: "State of Colorado, Standard School, Approved Class."

That door, however, is a portal not to the past, but to the future.
