Comparisons of Athletes and Other Students

To the Editor:

In the recent report on graduation rates for athletes, the usual comparisons are made showing that athletes graduate at a slightly higher rate than members of the general student body across the nation ("Graduation Rates of Athletes Outpace Students at Large," The Chronicle, November 9).
