Company Managed by William Weld Is Investor in Troubled Trade Schools
William F. Weld, the former governor of Massachusetts who now aspires to be governor of New York, has spent the last several years managing an investment company focused on for-profit education, and at least two investments made by the company in Kentucky-based education businesses have proved controversial.
The company, Leeds Weld & Company, owns a minority interest in Decker College, a construction-focused trade school based in Louisville.
