Community Colleges Try Bold Strategies to Get More Grant Money
Simulated patients that can be programmed to go into cardiac arrest, deliver breech babies, or just mutter complaints keep nursing students on their toes at Del Mar College. Students training to become airplane mechanics have a hangar full of Cessnas and helicopters to practice on. A biology student doing research on the decline of sea grasses uses new scientific and multimedia equipment to prepare his presentation for a national conference in Washington.
