Community Colleges Shouldn't Just Say No
To the Editor:
Community colleges do indeed have a problem trying to be all things to all people, as George B. Vaughan notes ("The Community College's Role in the Community," Community Colleges, October 26). Our curricula span a wide range of needs expressed by community leaders, businesses, students, and other stakeholders. Stemming the sprawl of programmatic offerings is important, and we do need to say no more effectively.
