Community Colleges Push for Changes as Congress Renews Job-Training Law
The reauthorization of the $2.5-billion Workforce Investment Act, which created a federal program that seeks to provide job and training opportunities for dislocated and adult workers, has emerged from a committee in the U.S. House of Representatives a little closer to what some community-college lobbyists would like to see. Still, the proposal falls short of just what they want.
