Community Colleges Care About Justice
To the Editor:
As the president of a community college, I'm very interested in Stanley N. Katz's "Choosing Justice Over Excellence" (The Review, May 17). From my perspective, community colleges are institutions of justice.
One of the most important missions of community colleges is to give voice to the disenfranchised, and that voice is often gained through employment. A student who's out of the economic loop has a chance of entering it if he or she gets a two-year degree.
