The governing board of Three Rivers Community College has fired the Missouri institution’s president, John F. Cooper, the Southeast Missourian reported today. Mr. Cooper had led the college, which is located in Poplar Bluff, Mo., since 1997. He had planned to retire next year. The board has given no public explanation for the firing, which took place on Tuesday, according to news accounts. —Paul Fain
