Community College Plans to Sue for Right to Autonomy
The Board of Trustees at Rockland Community College, in Suffern, N.Y., voted this month to sue its host county for the right to make its own decisions.
In recent months, Rockland County lawmakers have called for an audit of the college's finances after 45 faculty members and administrators were laid off or were not replaced after they left. The lawmakers also warned the college to expedite its search for a president and passed legislation requesting that the college keep programs it
