A speech class offered only to men at Northeast Lakeview College, a community college in Texas, will now be open to women, after critics said the gender-based enrollment policy was illegal, the San Antonio Express-News reported today. The class had been set up to improve low retention and graduation rates among its male students. The college’s president said the class would continue to focus on young men but would no longer be reserved for them. —Andrew Mytelka
