Columbia U. Professor Tells Teach-In He Hopes Iraq Will Defeat U.S.
During a teach-in at Columbia University last month, an anthropology professor said he hoped Iraq would defeat the United States and that he wished there would be "a million Mogadishus," a reference to the 1993 killing of 18 U.S. soldiers in Somalia.
Nicholas De Genova, an assistant professor of anthropology and Latino studies at Columbia, told more than 3,000 students and faculty members that "the only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military."
