Colorado Lawmaker Drops Bill Aimed at Protecting Students With Unpopular Views
Colorado legislation intended to protect college students with unpopular views will not be enacted this year.
State Rep. Shawn Mitchell, a Republican, dropped his bill last week after receiving commitments from college officials that they would discuss ways to better protect students' rights.
Mr. Mitchell's bill would have required that grades not be affected by students' political or religious views, that professors not introduce controversial topics in class if the issues were
