Colleges and a City Struggle for Land

To the Editor:

As chancellor of the Rancho Santiago Community College District, in Orange County, Calif., I feel compelled to respond to your article titled "2 Community Colleges Feud Over Marine Base" (September 21).

To set the record straight, our college district is not involved in a "feud" over the former Marine Corps base with the South Orange County Community College District. Your reporter was correct when she quoted me as saying, "Our argument is not with the South
