Colleges and Coaches Struggle With New Pay Requirements
Assistants at small institutions may lose their jobs as a result of change in federal lawSpring practice started for the men's soccer team at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on March 1. Later that week, though, an assistant coach, Theodore B. D'Arcy, was not walking the sidelines or helping guide his team through drills. He was at the nearby Corinthians Athletics Club, working for a youth soccer program.
Mr. D'Arcy is not shirking his duties at the university.
