Both the PBS documentary Declining by Degrees: Higher Education at Risk and Robert Zemsky's critique of it ("A Whining View of Higher Education," The Chronicle Review, June 17) voice concerns about responsive leadership and public purpose among colleges and universities. I share these concerns, and I too will miss the "exhortative" American Association of Higher Education. ...
