Colleges Urged to Offer Vaccine for Meningitis
College freshmen should be better informed about the possibility of contracting meningitis, and colleges should offer a vaccine to those who request it, said a committee of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in a report issued last month.
In its report on meningitis and college students, though, the panel stopped short of recommending mandatory vaccines.
The report cited the "modestly increased risk" that the disease poses to college
