Colleges Urged to Improve Research Integrity
Colleges should work harder to educate faculty members and students to help deter scientific fraud, but the government should not require universities to establish such programs, a report from the Institute of Medicine recommends.
The report, "Integrity in Scientific Research: Creating an Environment That Promotes Responsible Conduct," suggests that institutions and outside accreditors should measure the progress of such efforts. It was released in July.
