Colleges Spend More Than They Charge in Tuition, Study Finds
Three years after the National Commission on the Cost of Higher Education called on college officials to account for why tuition is so high, a study has found that almost every college is spending more than it charges to educate undergraduates.
The National Association of College and University Business Officers released the preliminary results of its study during the group's annual conference last week in New York City. A final report is expected next year.
