Colleges Must Be Smarter About Money, Panel Says
A panel of financial and higher-education officials warned college and university leaders last week to rethink their financial practices by improving financial disclosures, working more closely with trustees, and adopting more-diverse investment strategies.
The warning comes as the nation's financial woes have led to sharp endowment losses, cutbacks in state financing, and slowed fund-raising efforts, panelists said during an online seminar run by the National Association of College
