Colleges Increase Outsourcing of Information-Technology Work

The outsourcing of information-technology operations, the deployment of wireless technology, and the use of Internet-based telephone and video communications are among the growing IT practices at colleges, according to an annual survey released last month by Educause.

The higher-education technology group also conducted the survey, whose findings appear in its "Core Data Service Fiscal Year 2005 Summary Report."
