Colleges Hail Blocking of PeopleSoft Takeover
Many PeopleSoft customers in academe have welcomed the Justice Department's lawsuit to block Oracle Corporation's $9.4-billion bid to take over the company.
"We hope that this will put an end to the whole struggle," said Ola Faucher, director of human resources at the University of Kansas. "At least it will be a disincentive for Oracle to continue." Ms. Faucher is president of the Higher Education User Group, which represents about 345 colleges that use PeopleSoft
