Colleges Exempted From Visa Limits
Congress approved legislation last week that would exempt foreign workers employed by colleges from a cap on the number of visas available each year for highly skilled professionals.
The Republican-sponsored bill also would increase the number of H-1B visas for workers in high-technology industries. The visas are three-year work permits for foreign employees with college degrees, and are renewable. The measure now goes to President Clinton, who is expected to
