Colleges Could Cut Remediation Cost by Dealing With High-School 'Senior Slump,' Report Says
Slackers aren't lazy. They just lack incentive.
That's the chief conclusion of a report released in May that found that students who slack off during their senior year of high school are reacting rationally to a college-admissions process that provides them little reason to work hard during that final year.
