Delaware County Community College will reopen on Wednesday, nearly a week after threatening e-mail messages led officials to shut down the five-campus institution in Pennsylvania. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, which printed the text of one of the messages, the college has arranged for extra security and counseling, and is offering a $5,000 reward for the conviction of the person who sent the messages. The authorities believe the messages were written by a student, but it was unclear if they represented a genuine threat or were just part of a wave of copycat incidents by attention seekers in the aftermath of deadly shootings two weeks ago at Virginia Tech. —Andrew Mytelka
