College for Home-Schooled Students Adopts Patrick Henry's Name

With the first college for home-schooled students preparing to open in a year, organizers wanted a name that conveyed the institution's philosophy.

They chose Patrick Henry College.

"It's going to be a Christian college with a home-school orientation in Virginia. Patrick Henry was a home-schooled kid from Virginia who did pretty well," says Michael P. Farris, president of the college and of the Home
