College Students in the Digital Age

To the Editor:

Please, could The Chronicle provide some voice of reason in the ridiculous article "The Net Generation Goes to College" (October 7)? Certainly young people today come to college with some different technical skills and attitudes, but to leap to the premise that education needs a complete overhaul seems absurd. While I respect students, is it really wise to allow 18-year-olds to determine the style and content of their education? Remember how much you did not know at
