College Students Believe Peers Are Engaging in More Piracy, Study Finds
College students who swipe and share music online do so not only because they believe that, morally, they are in the right, but also because they feel others are doing it even more. So says a study in the journal "Cyberpsychology and Behavior."
If copyright holders worked to change those social assumptions rather than threaten lawsuits, they could more effectively discourage piracy, the report says.
