College-Stores Group Settles Suit Against VarsityBooks.com

VarsityBooks.com, an online retailer, and the National Association of College Stores have settled a lawsuit in which the association accused the company of using misleading advertisements and deceiving customers.

In an announcement last week, the association said that VarsityBooks had agreed to refrain from advertising discounts of "up to 40 percent" on a range of textbooks it sells unless at least 10 percent of the promoted books were in fact being offered at the full 40-percent
